Virtual Church

// March 30th, 2020 // Comments Off // Ian's blogs, News, Sean's blogs

In these days of lockdown and social distancing we obviously can’t gather as church. The key way we are keeping in touch is with our vlog on YouTube. This has updates 3 times a week with the main one being a Bible based talk for Sundays. We also send out an email with an order of service with suggested prayers and song links. Let us know if you’d like to be included in that distribution via any of our normal contact routes.

Coronavirus response

By now you’ll have heard that the government has asked for a temporary halt to all non-essential social contact. Gathering as the church is far more than social contact, but the government have asked all faith groups to stop meeting for the time being. Our national AoG leaders have asked us to honour the prime minister’s request so we will are cancelling all our meetings for the time being. That includes Sunday services, prayer meetings, life groups, craft group and ‘Any Questions’. We are still planning to keep running the foodbank on Tuesday mornings as long as we have enough volunteers.

Our leadership team is meeting tomorrow to discuss how we can best stay connected as a church in this difficult time. We’ll let you know what’s happening as soon as we can.

Over the centuries, the church of Christ has been through far more difficult times than this and has emerged stronger.  We are confident that God will show his strength and power this time too.

Psalm 100:5
For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation.

John 16:33
‘I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.’

Lent Reflections 2020

// February 29th, 2020 // Comments Off // Ian's blogs, News, Sean's blogs

This year we’re basing everything on the theme of Good News, and our Lent reflections are no exception. Each week has a theme which follows what we’re talking about Sunday. There’s a scripture a day for you to think about and draw closer to God. There are paper copies in the church building.
